DigiStream’s Partnership with The Innocence Project & Blank Rome Law Firm leads to Wrongful Conviction being Overturned

DigiStream is pleased to announce some exciting news about a case we have dedicated our efforts to over the past year.

In 1996, a tragic incident at a Philadelphia convenience store led to the wrongful felony murder conviction of Tyree Wallace. Despite a lack of physical evidence and a credible alibi, Tyree was sentenced to life in prison without parole, based solely on the testimony of coerced witnesses. Tyree maintained his innocence from day one.

Working in tandem with The Innocence Project and the Blank Rome law firm in Philadelphia, DigiStream identified and engaged with multiple witnesses who substantiated Tyree's innocence, corroborated police corruption, and confirmed his alibi. As a result, Tyree's case was taken up by the Post Conviction Relief Act Unit in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office.

On November 4th, 2024, justice prevailed as Tyree Wallace walked free at the recommendation of the DA. Celebrating this historic occasion, Partner and General Manager of DigiStream’s Mid-Atlantic affiliate, James Gamble, had the privilege of personally meeting Tyree.

Reflecting on the collaboration with The Innocence Project, James Gamble stated, "I anticipated a decade or more before witnessing the fulfilment of helping an individual clear their name. In just 2 years, we achieved this incredible milestone.”

DigiStream is honored to collaborate with The Innocence Project, the exceptional attorneys at Blank Rome, as well as the many volunteers who generously donate their time to the organization. We look forward to our continued partnership and eagerly anticipate the exoneration of many more individuals in the years ahead.
